 July 1st Google Doodle promotes AI Mode mmm Google’s AI Mode push continues today with a Doodle that broadly promotes how you can “search like never before.” The Chrome New Tab page on Android, iOS, and desktop shows the new gradient ‘G’ logo with red, yellow, green, and blue dots. Against a dark background, the still artwork looks like it has something to do with outer space, and that is what originally got me to click. In the US, google.com for both signed in and logged out users has a bouncy animation that involves the letters of the wordmark combining to form the ‘G’ icon. This also appears in the Google app and at the top of the Discover feed on mobile. That artwork somewhat reflects how AI Mode brings together information and summarizes it. Mmm Tapping takes you to an “AI Mode” Search results page, like any other Doodle. An AI Overview amusingly provides an explanation, while there’s a gradient in the top-left corner.
